I must say, my favorite verse out of this psalm is verse 6. When I go to bed, I don’t quite think of God. I think of the next day, the things I need to get done, the long-term things I have on my list, and my worries (of course). But to David, the moment before sleeping is another moment to praise God and to meditate on all that He has blessed us with. God definitely consumes David’s mind; and every waking moment is well spent for God’s glorification.
This isn’t quite the psalm to make detailed observations. This is a more meditative psalm. Of course, David shows his dependence and firm stand in God (and relating it back to me…again…won’t do much). But to meditate on this and to make it real (because God did save me from eternal death), would be more influential. It’s the humility behind David’s word that I want to emphasize, especially how dependent he is on God. Make it real for yourself
